Stare at the red dot in the center of the 'weird' image. When it switches to white, you will see the scene in correct, vivid colors.

The image you stared at was a **color negative**. Blues were inverted to Yellows, Reds to Cyans, etc. By fatiguing the receptors for these "wrong" colors, you primed your eyes to see the "right" colors when looking at neutral white light.
