Phantom Motion (MIB)

Stare continuously at the green cross in the center. Do not move your eyes. After 10-20 seconds, the yellow dots will begin to disappear one by one.

Motion Induced Blindness

This phenomenon is called **Motion Induced Blindness (MIB)**. When a small object is stationary against a moving background, your brain sometimes discards it as "noise" or a scotoma (blind spot) to prioritize the moving information which is deemed more relevant.

It's a failure of visual awareness, not your eyes. The signal is hitting your retina, but your brain is actively deleting it.
