Spiral Depth Pull Illusion
Experience a geometric tunnel that creates a compelling sense of depth and acceleration.
π§ What do you see?βΌ
Square frames appear at the center and grow rapidly as they "move" toward you. The rotation adds a layer of complexity, making the tunnel seem to twist as you travel through it.
π§ Why this worksβΌ
This is a classic perspective projection animation. By calculating the scale of objects based on an inverse depth (1/z), we replicate how physical objects appear to grow larger as they approach our eyes.
The Depth Pull effect is enhanced by the rotation. Our brains associate simultaneous expansion and rotation with proprioceptive shiftsβthe feeling that our bodies are tilting or falling into the screen.
π§ͺ Try variationsβΌ
- Wait for the loop: The "time" variable ensures a continuous, seamless flow that never breaks.
- Change Intensity: Higher intensity increases the twist factor, making the 3D effect more chaotic.
β FAQβΌ
Does it work with other shapes?
Yes. Hexagons and circles create similar effects, but squares have sharp corners that are easier for the eye to track, making the rotation more obvious.
